Angry birds in real life

Real Life Angry Birds

October 10th, 2011 by: Redzwang

Indian artist Mohamed Raoof decided to bring his own spin onto the Angry Birds phenomenon. Instead of cases, toys or video games, he came up with how these angry birds would look like in real life. One thing’s for sure, they look just as pissed off IRL as in the game.

I can imagine seeing these birds flying around in my backyard, only I’d keep my dog away from them, as it looks like they have a mean temperament and might try to fling themselves at us.

Thankfully/Sadly, these Angry Birds won’t starting trying to destroy homes filled with equally real looking green piggies anytime soon.

The Angry Birds have been tracked down in real life - if you believe these wacky images.

The characters from popular phone game were created by a fan of the app who wondered what the avian stars would look like in the wild.

Mohamed Raoof, from Kerala, India explains: 'I got the idea when I Googled the Angry Bird images and got confused what type or species they are as I thought of them as real things.

'I decided to create something quickly on my old PC. The first image only took about one hour or less, and I did it to just pass the time.

'But the response that my friends gave me made me do the rest, and these other images took on average two hours each.

'I tried to reflect the right look and colours of the birds, from the simple starting red bird to the green boomerang toucan. I think I have captured their characters.'

It was recently announced that Angry Birds has become the first game to achieve 500 million downloads, a figure reached less than two years after release.

The game has been downloaded 50 million times in China alone, and Finnish creators Rovio have so far shipped 10 million Angry Birds toys worldwide.

'This is a fantastic landmark achievement for us, and we're extremely delighted to see such an incredible amount of people enjoying our games,' said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio.

In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield.

As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player.

North Yorkshire’s Mysterious Tree Sculptor Finally Revealed

Mysterious Tree Sculptures_1

Recently dubbed the “Yorkshire Banksy” due to the mystery of his identity, a tree sculptor in the English town of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire has been popping around town for the past few weeks, transforming various tree trunks into massive works of art. When the BBC decided to knock on neighbors’ doors, they got some answers and almost two months after the first sighting, the mystical creatures, animals, and other various forms were credited to chainsaw tree artist Tommy Craggs.

Craggs is an award-winning sculptor who merely “forgot to sign the artworks.” So the mystery wasn’t intentional but the oversight did provide the town with quite a conversation piece for a few months! Previously a professional tree feller, the artist eventually turned his creative skills and his ability with a chainsaw into something magical. He now travels around the world making a living with this tree sculpting artform. “I like to see what I do as a way of bringing the trees back to life and I work against the grains to reveal the real beauty of the wood.”

Mysterious Carved Tree Hoax

Brief Analysis
The claims in the message are untrue. The "tree" in the photographs is completely artificial. The tree is, in fact, the famous "Tree of Life", an icon of Disney's Animal Kingdom, a theme park located in Florida, USA.

At a glance you may be confused the above tree with a massive trunk with a 'Baobab' tree (which is renowned to possess the largest tree trunks of the world) but, this is yet another unknown specie which is seen in the close proximity of a hermitage deep in the dense forest in 'Andra Pradesh' in India. And most importantly it is natural not artificial.

Now have a close look at the bark and experience the unbelievable figures of creatures engraved in the surface of the entire tree trunk!! Absolutely real!!! Not man made

How to Properly Shine Leather Shoes

How to Properly Shine Leather Shoes

No matter how nice your shoes are, they can start looking worn and ugly over time if nor properly cared for. Here's a quick tutorial on how to properly shine a pair of leather shoes.

If you haven't shined shoes before, don't worry—it's actually really, really simple. You will need a few things beforehand, though, which you can buy very cheaply anywhere from a professional shoe shop to somewhere like Target or Wal-Mart:

§ A soft cloth. This can really be anything from a rag or an old t-shirt to a special buffing cloth (really though, an old t-shirt should work just fine).

§ A can of shoe polish. These usually run for about a dollar. Grab them in whatever colors you need for the shoes you're shining.

§ A good shoe brush. Usually these will run you anywhere between $5 and $10.

Shining your shoes is a simple process that should only take you a few minutes. Here's what you do:

1. First, brush off any dirt, mud, salt, or other debris on your shoe with your brush or a damp cloth. Wait for the shoe to dry before continuing to the next step.

2. Next, apply a little bit of your shoe polish to the shoe with your cloth or t-shirt. Make sure not to get it on the carpet or anything else, it won't come out easily! Rub the shoe in small circles, using just a bit of shoe polish at a time—remember, less is more (and you can always add more if need be).

3. Use your shoe brush to brush any excess polish off the shoe. Don't be afraid to put a little elbow grease into this step, you won't ruin the shoe.

4. Lastly, take your cloth or t-shirt and buff out the rest of your shoe so it shines.

Check out the video above from About.com to see it in action. If you prefer to have a little cheat sheet, weblog Art of Manliness put together a great little illustration that goes through all the steps. And remember: if you run out of shoe polish, you can always substitute a banana in a pinch, not to mention clean your tennis shoes with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or baking soda.
